From Monday to Wednesday, 23-25 January, Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions, was in Rome for three days of meetings with institutions and for an inspection at the Tor Vergata site that could host the #Expo2030Rome.
After being welcomed at Fiumicino Airport on Monday morning by General Director Giuseppe Scognamiglio, Secretary Kerkentzes visited Rome’s offices of Expo 2030 with Ambassador Giampiero Massolo, and in the early afternoon, he took part at the round table for the presentation of the progress of Rome’s candidacy for Expo 2030.
He then met the ministers Adolfo Urso (Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy) and Francesco Lollobrigida (Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry), who confirmed the strong commitment of the entire Government to Rome’s candidacy.
On Tuesday, 24 January, Secretary Kerkentzes, accompanied by Ambassador Giampiero Massolo, President of the Expo Roma 2030 Promoting Committee, and the General Director Giuseppe Scognamiglio, met in the morning the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, and then Ambassador Fabio Cassese, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the Republic.
In the early afternoon, with the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, he visited the Tor Vergata site, where Expo 2030 could be hosted if the capital wins the bid.
The visit ended today, Wednesday, 25 January, after the meetings with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, and Minister of Sport Andrea Abodi.
